My physiotherapist is Callum.
My story is as follows:
When I first met Callum, I wasn’t looking to get fit or transform my body. I was in pain. I weighed close to forty stone, was almost completely housebound, and lived with constant physical discomfort following disc problems. My muscles were weak, tight, and struggling, and I was scared of doing the wrong thing and making my pain worse.
From the very first session, Callum made me feel understood. He took time to explain what was happening in my body, why I was in pain, and what we could safely do to improve it. That understanding changed everything. For the first time in a long time, movement didn’t feel dangerous. It felt possible.
We started with physiotherapy, and Callum stayed with me throughout the entire journey. As my strength and confidence slowly grew, so did the support. We moved on to gentle circuits at my home, adapting each exercise to how my body felt on that day. There was never pressure, only encouragement and belief.
When I felt ready, Callum encouraged me to try swimming. It took courage, but knowing he believed in me made it easier to take that step. Walking was one of the hardest challenges, and again, Callum didn’t just give advice from a distance. He came walking with me, steadily increasing the distance, reassuring me when things felt tough, and celebrating progress I once thought impossible.
Knowing how anxious I was about gyms, Callum went out of his way to find a small private gym where I could train without feeling judged. That thoughtfulness meant more to me than he probably realises. Over time, with his continued support, my confidence grew, and I eventually transitioned into training at a commercial gym.
Today, I am ten stone lighter, no longer housebound, and moving with confidence instead of fear. My pain is manageable, I understand my body, and I feel in control of my health for the first time in years.
This journey was never just about exercise. It was about trust, patience, and someone believing in me when I struggled to believe in myself. Callum didn’t just help me recover physically. He helped me get my life back. I honestly owe him so much.
